The Discover Nature Award is a youth-led Scottish charity, made possible thanks to the commitment of organisations that believe in helping young adults find their place in nature restoration.
Borders Forest Trust has been instrumental, helping us fund our pilot phase and continuing to provide invaluable staff expertise and access to the Wild Heart sites, the living classrooms that make our hands-on climate action possible.
As we expand, Highlander Outdoors is supporting our participants with essential outdoor gear, while Rewilding Britain is working to dismantle barriers linked to travel and awareness, ensuring more young adults can take part.
This crucial support, along with future partnerships, ensures the Discover Nature Award remains free and fully accessible to young adults who face barriers to engaging with nature.
Support Our Growth
The Discover Nature Award is a newly established Scottish charity with an ambitious vision: to ensure more young adults have the opportunity to discover their place in nature and become active contributors to Scotland's nature recovery.
Our three-year strategy has been developed and approved by our Youth Board, reflecting the voices and ambitions of the young people at the heart of DNA. The plan sets out how we will grow opportunities for young adults to connect with nature, build skills, take action and become future leaders in nature recovery.
As we move from a successful pilot into charity delivery, we are seeking mission-aligned supporters to help us turn this vision into reality and expand our impact across Scotland.
Support can take many forms, from funding and sponsorship to in-kind support, fundraising challenges and individual donations. Whether you support us through a partnership, organise a fundraising event, take on a challenge for DNA, or make a personal donation, every action helps us keep the Discover Nature Award free and accessible, removing barriers so that more young adults can discover their place in nature and contribute to nature recovery.
If your organisation shares our commitment to empowering the next generation of nature leaders, we would love to hear from you. Whether through funding, sponsorship, partnership or in-kind support, your involvement can help the Discover Nature Award grow across Scotland.
If you would like to make a personal contribution, you can support our work through a donation.

“We’re now seeking funding to deliver a full year of DNA sessions in 2027 for 80 young adults, pilot our immersive Discover Nature Camp, upskill our new trustee board, and support DNA graduates to begin volunteering on DNA events in their local communities and with partners like Borders Forest Trust.
The co-design and ethos of upskilling the community during the pilot has already showing amazing results. We’re all super keen to give the DNA a full delivery year so we can keep designing this incredible programme together and helping young adults find their place in nature, the environmental sector and our community
